HISTORICAL PRESENTATION FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN AND OTHER GROUPS

We have a classroom presentation by a professional actress, Saundra Torchia who portrays Alice Gentry a former teacher in Concord. She handles groups attending her sessions like Alice Gentry did 100 years ago. On April 14th the Antique Model-T Group met at Concord and were in "Alice Gentry's class. It was an entertaining experience.

We have a forge and will give demonstrations of how tools were made prior to Wall-Marts'.

We will present information with pictures, implements, articles, and answer questions about how people in this area lived before, cars, television, computers, cell-phones. Our presentation will cover:

·        The size of houses families lived in. (Illustration will include a picture of the log cabin with only one window)

·        How people traveled

·        How they made what they needed

 ·        How they cooperated to help each other

 ·         Their beliefs

 ·         Their work

 ·         How they kept food from spoiling

 ·          Recreation

 ·          Heating and cooling buildings

The special rate for groups of more than 20 is $3.00 per person
